The South-Eastern portion of Aurora (Tollgate Crossing, Sorrel Ranch, The Wheatlands, Beacon Point, Southshore and Tallyn’s Reach) is a great place to live, raise a family, and enjoy life. A vibrant and growing community, close to all the conveniences of a large metropolitan area, yet far enough away from the hubbub of our hectic workplaces.

We all treasure our place in South-Eastern Aurora, and a group of Tollgate residents have established this watch group as a way to deter crime, safeguard the residents, and protect the property of all our residents. Our neighborhood watch isn’t the police (call 911 in an emergency), but we’re working with law enforcement and other city resources, in order to keep our community healthy and crime-free. We’re a group of concerned residents, taking an active role in our community.

What started out as a neighborhood watch for the residents of Tollgate Crossing has grown into something larger, a network of communities working together to deter crime and keep our communities safe. We welcome the residents from the Tollgate Crossing, Sorrel Ranch, The Wheatlands, Beacon Point, Southshore and Tallyn’s Reach communities. If you would like to help us, you can contact the watch group leaders by emailing us. Send your questions, comments or concerns to:

Door-to-Door disposal of household chemicals

Getting rid of paint and other household chemicals is just a call away with the Door-to-Door household Hazardous Waste Program. Sponsored by Aurora Water and Curbside, Inc. The program provides a convenient, cost-effective way for residents to responsibly dispose of household chemicals, including paint, batteries, used oil, spray cans and much more (for a cost of $15.00) Residents interested in the service should call 1-800-449-7587 to schedule an appointment, obtain a list of acceptable items and to receive a collection kit that holds the chemicals sercurely until pickup. Neighborhood Watch - 2nd Annual Picnic

Our Neighborhood Watch (The South East Aurora Neighborhood Watch) is planning a Picnic for May 15th of 2010. Last year’s Picnic was such a blast, we had to have another. It’s an annual sort of thing. We’ll have food, music, demonstrations, some vendors and it’s a fantastic opportunity to meet and greet members of our community, the Neighborhood Watch and members of the Aurora Police Department. If you’re interested and/or willing to help us with this years event, please contact our Head Area Coordinator (Judy Van Meter). We could really use your help. The next Picnic Planning Meeting is Feb 18th at 7pm (at the HACs home).
